Mobility Program Erasmus+

Extroversion, synergies with universities abroad, new experiences and knowledge, interaction with other cultures, societies and civilizations are important priorities for the Department of Political Science and international Relations (PSIR). To this end, we take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ Academic Mobility Programme of the European Union. The PSIR Department has developed an extensive Erasmus+ exchange network with universities abroad for students and faculty staff.

Studies/Offered Courses

The PSIR department offers a wide range of courses in Greek. It also offers courses in English and French. The course descriptions can be found here.

Erasmus students must choose one of the following courses offered by the Department in English:

  • Topics on European Studies (winter term)
  • Topics on International Studies (spring term)

The course “The EU and Conflict Management in the Balkans and Eastern Mediterraneanis also offered in English (6 ECTS). The description of this course, which is offered to undergraduate and postgraduate students, can be found here  (please note that the course’s specifications and assessment method may be subject to modification for undergraduate students.)

Other courses offered in a foreign language are the following: English I (winter term), English II (spring term), English for Academic Purposes I (winter term), English for Academic Purposes II (spring term), French for Political Scientists (winter term), French for Political and Social Scientists (spring term), and French Language and Interculturalism (spring term).

Erasmus students can also opt for the course “Social Policy” (winter semester) and the course “Education Policy” (spring semester), which are offered in English by the Department of Social and Educational Policy.

International Cooperation

With the aim of strengthening extroversion, the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of the Peloponnese is expanding the cooperation network with Universities abroad and International Research Centers. Through these synergies, the mobility of students and teaching staff is promoted as well as the general cooperation at the academic and research level (conferences, lectures, publications, etc.).

Practical Information

Accommodation/Meals

Interested students/visitors may look for accommodation in the town of Corinth where the PSIR Department is based. Τhe city of Athens is also within easy reach providing accommodation 1 hour by metro/bus from PSIR Department. The Department does not have residencies for student accommodation.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are offered at the university restaurant to Visiting students studying at PSIR, free of charge.
