Short biographical note

Nikos Daskalakis obtained his PhD in Corporate Finance from Athens University of Economics and Business. He earned his M.Sc. in Multinational Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Reading, UK and graduated in Business Administration from Athens University of Economics and Business, specialized in Accounting and Finance. Dr. Daskalakis is an experienced researcher and has participated in several scientific conferences where he presented his research work. He has published in numerous well rated academic journals and his publications enjoy a high level of awareness with more than 170 citations (Google Scholar). His current research interests lie on the scientific area of corporate finance, focusing mainly on behavioral finance and small firm financing.

Nikos Daskalakis combines academic research with practical experience. He is Head of Market and Entrepreneurship Development Discipline in the Small Enterprises Institute of the Hellenic Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen and Merchants. Since January 2011, he is a member of the Financial Services User Group, consulting the European Commission on matters that refer to the users of financial services. Last, since October 2013 he is a member of the Banking Stakeholder Group of the European Banking Authority.
