I welcome you to the website of the Department of Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) at the University of the Peloponnese, based in the historic and welcoming city of Corinth.

PSIR is one of the most dynamic social sciences departments in Greece, providing high-quality education. It is characterised by its strong extroversion (which has led to significant and close collaborations with universities abroad), its interdisciplinary undergraduate programme, its innovative postgraduate programmes, and its extensive and internationally recognised research activity.

Particular emphasis is placed on the development of analytical, digital and communication skills, with the aim of preparing graduates for a successful career. The interdisciplinary foundation provided by the PSIR opens a wide range of academic prospects and career opportunities in public and private sector organisations, research bodies, international organisations and civil society, both in Greece and abroad.

The modern academic environment and, above all, the teaching and administrative staff, who consistently support the students, constitute the Department’s comparative advantages.

As is notably highlighted in the Department's Accreditation Report by external evaluators, ‘the Department (PSIR) demonstrates a strong sense of cohesion that permeates all levels of its operations.
