Professor Liliana Szczuka-Dorna is a leading expert in Applied Linguistics and English Medium Instruction (EMI) at Poznan University of Technology, where she is affiliated with the Centre of Languages and Communication (CLC). With a career spanning nearly three decades in academic leadership, she served as Director of the CLC from 1996 to 2024 and currently acts as the Rector’s Proxy for Micro-credentials.
Her work bridges language education, intercultural communication, and European higher education innovation. She teaches courses such as English for Academics, Effective Presentations, and Intercultural Communication, supporting both Polish and international students in developing key academic and professional competencies.
Professor Szczuka-Dorna has played an active role in shaping international educational collaboration through projects such as Tempus, Phare, Leonardo da Vinci, Erasmus+, and NAWA. She is currently involved in the EUNICE European University alliance, where she contributes to strategic initiatives, including the development and implementation of micro-credentials across partner institutions.
A recognized leader in her field, she has served as President of CercleS (the European Confederation of Language Centres in Higher Education) and SERMO (the Polish Association of Academic Foreign Language Centres). Her academic interests include EMI, specialized language teaching, and intercultural communication. She is also co-author of Introduction to Interpersonal Communication.
In addition to her academic and leadership roles, she is a sworn translator registered with the Ministry of Justice, bringing practical expertise in professional communication to her work.
Katarzyna Matuszak, Ph.D., is an academic teacher at the CLC of PUT. A graduate of Neo-philology Faculty, Faculty of Educational Studies and Faculty of Health Sciences (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan). She teaches GE, EAP and ESP at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cycle studies. She specializes in social and interpersonal communication, especially with reference to the notion of Communicative Competence and Intercultural Communicative Competence. Her teaching experience encompasses such subjects as Public Presentations, Interpersonal and Social Communication as well as EMI. She is running academic language courses in the Doctoral School.
Her academic and professional interests focus on inclusive and accessible education. She has designed, organized, and run language courses for students with specific needs and atypical learning profiles at Poznan University of Technology.
Involved in international Projects (GELS, NAWA, BADGE, EUNICE), enthusiastic participant, speaker and organizer of numerous international and national conferences, author of scientific articles.
