Short biographical note

Antonis Klapsis is Assistant Professor of Diplomacy and International Organization at the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of Peloponnese. He is the Academic Coordinator of the Centre of International and European Political Economy and Governance of the same Department. He holds a PhD in Diplomatic History from the Department of International and European Studies of Panteion University. He was a Visiting Fellow at the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies in Brussels. He has worked as an Expert at the Committee of the Regions of the European Union on the evaluation of the European Migration Agenda and on the new European Neighbourhood Policy. He was in charge of the historic documentation of the Newsreels Archive of the Hellenic Audiovisual Archives for the periods 1944-1967 and 1974-1982. He is a member of the Hellenic Historical Society, of the National Greek Committee of the International Association of South-East European Studies, of the Hellenic Society of International Law and International Relations, and of the Greek Council for International Relations. His research interests include history of international relations, diplomacy and the organization of the international community, European integration, as well as the historical development of Greek foreign policy with emphasis on the Balkans and Greek-Turkish relations. He is the author of eight monographs, he has edited and co-edited three contributed volumes, and has published numerous papers in internationally renowned academic journals (such as Diplomacy and Statecraft, Journal of Imperial and Commonwealth History, Middle Eastern Studies etc.) and contributed volumes.
