Short biographical note

Dr. Georgios I. Farantos is an Occupational Health and Safety Inspector (Engineer) (2000-2016, 2020-).

He was the Associate Manager at the General Hospital of Argolida –management competence in Nafplion Nursing Unit (Greece) 2016-2020. He was Head of Division of Occupational Health and Safety Inspectorate in Arcadia and/or Argolida (2004-7, 2012-4, 2014-6).  He has worked also an Electrical Engineer in the Greek Army and as a Professional Technical Teacher and a Occupational and  Safety Trainer.

He is now a PostDoc Researcher in “Health Policy and Efficiency during the SYRIZA-ANEL governments” in the Department of Political Science and International Relations, University of Pelopnnese, Korinthos, Greece (2022). He holds a Ph.D. Diploma in “The effect of Policy Change in Efficiency in Economic Crisis. Health Policies and Health Units Efficiency” from the Department of Political Science and International Relations, University of Peloponnese, Korinthos, Greece (2021). He holds a M.P.A. in Public Management from University of Peloponnese (2008). He also holds a Dip.Ed. in Pedagogy and Instructional Technology (2002) from  Higher Scholl of Pedagogical and Technical Education. He holds a B.Sc. in Technology Education and Electrical Engineering, (1996) from Higher School of Vocational and Technical Education.

He had teached as an Academic Fellow in the field of Macroeconomics in the Department of Economics, University of Peloponnese (Greece). He has teached in the Hellenic secondary and  post secondary technical education, in the University of the Society, in occupational health and safety training and in adult training courses.

His current research interests focus on Public Policies, Health Policy Analysis, Efficiency measurement methods, Information Systems, Crisis Management, Decision Support Systems, Measure Efficiency methods and techniques, Strategic Information Systems Planning. He has presented papers in several congresses and International Journals about Business, Management and Health Policy (15 papers). He has reviewed papers in the European Scientific Journal and in the Journal of Innovation and Education (10 papers). He is the Guest Editor of the Special Edition of ESJ with topic “Public Policies in times of Pandemics”. He is  a member of the editorial team of the Journal of Innovation Education and Communication.
