The Department of Political Science and International Relations (PSIR) of the University of the Peloponnese has been operating since the academic year 2007-2008 under Presidential Decree 118/2003 (Government Gazette 102, issue A') and belongs to the School of Social and Political Sciences based in Corinth. The first students were admitted in the academic year 2007-2008. 

The aim of the Department is to provide students with an excellent scientific training in the fields of Political Science, International Relations, International Political Economy, Area Studies, New Technologies, International and European History, Culture, Law, Sociology and Philosophy. The curriculum meets the best international academic standards and, at the same time, offers skills and opportunities that are in line with labour market trends.
