The Department of Political Science and International Relations of the University of the Peloponnese acting as the coordinator and administrative partner of the Project: "AfriquEurope: The European Union and Africa in a Multi Crises World", organized 2 events in China:
- in collaboration with the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, successfully organized the 2nd international conference of the project on:
"China in Africa and EU-China-Africa Relations"
on September 23-24, 2024, in Shanghai. The event brought together leading academics and experts from African, Chinese, and European universities and think tanks, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas on the evolving trilateral relationship.
Through insightful presentations and productive discussions, the conference provided a comprehensive analysis of China’s growing role in Africa and its implications for EU-Africa relations. Participants praised the event for its collaborative spirit and the diversity of perspectives, which led to a deeper understanding of geopolitical, economic, and developmental dynamics in Africa.
The conference marked a significant step towards strengthening cooperation and dialogue among the three regions.
- A Jean Monnet Policy Dialogue on:
"EU-China-Africa Relations in a Changing World"
on September 26, 2024, at the European Union Mission headquarters in Beijing, China. The event brought together distinguished academics from African, Chinese, and European universities and think tanks and diplomats from European and African embassies in China.
Participants engaged in a vivid debate on the shifting dynamics of the trilateral relationship, addressing key geopolitical, economic, and development issues. The lively discussions underscored the importance of enhanced cooperation and mutual understanding between the regions in an increasingly interconnected global landscape.
