What is d-ICT

The sudden transition to distance education due to Covid-19 has caught many vocational education teachers in European countries unprepared. The result is that most of them cannot adequately meet the new demands of education. d-ICT seeks to identify these weaknesses and improve the digital skills of educators. The innovation of the specific program lies in the application of gamification in asynchronous distance education, generating the interest and curiosity of vocational education students while reducing school dropout. At the same time, it is expected that group cooperation and interaction between students in distance education conditions will be strengthened. The ultimate goal of the partners is to create an E-Toolkit, which will act as a repository of digital strategies with integrated gamification. It is an innovative program that was inspired by Professor Nikitas-Spyros Koutsoukis, who passed away shortly after its implementation.

The partnership

The project is coordinated by the University of the Peloponnese and in particular PSIR. It is represented by a consortium of eight partners from seven European countries. The creation of the partnership was based on three criteria:

    1. In the experience and know-how that all partners have on corresponding research programs,
    2. In their interest in educational matters and
    3. Good cooperation among
