This course is aimed at students in the Departments of Political Science and International Relations as well as Social and Educational Policy at the University of the Peloponnese, who already possess basic knowledge of the French language. It focuses on the understanding of French in the context of social and political sciences while strengthening the students’ linguistic autonomy. Students work with authentic French-language texts from the press, the internet, and selected academic sources, through which they examine topics related to political theory, international relations, social and educational policy. They also systematically practice grammatical phenomena such as the present tense and the main past and future tenses, adverbs, pronouns, common verbs, and the use of prepositions and conjunctions. Through targeted exercises, interactive online quizzes (Quizlet, Wordwall, LearningApps), as well as videos, podcasts, and collaborative writing platforms (Padlet, Miro, Canva) students enrich their vocabulary and learn to correctly use French grammar in contexts related to their studies. The educational approach is participatory and experiential, including discussions, oral presentations, writing tasks for real-life communication scenarios, and research in Francophone websites.
