The content of the course is articulated in four main themes which view the Europe-an reality from the viewpoints of European studies, political science, international relations, culture, history and philosophy. Within these themes, special lectures tack-le issues of political leadership, ideology and practice, policies, security issues, and relations with the EU’s vicinity as well as with more distant actors. Questions of values, of identity and civilization, and of the origin of European Integration are ad-dressed in the second half of the course. A special session targets the English writing skills of participating students.

The courses Social Policy and Topics on European Studies are offered jointly in both Departments of the School (PSIR and the Department of Education and Social Policy) only if there are Erasmus students in the current semester. If they are offered, they can be taken by students from both departments, PSIR and SEP.
